After Imelda Schweighart resigned as Miss Philippines Earth 2016, Miss Philippines Earth 2016 first runner-up Kiara Giel Gregorio has now been crowned as the new Miss Philippines Earth 2016. Kiara won Miss Philippines Air. Born in Cabanatuan to Filipino parents, Gregorio moved to England at the age of 10.

In her video for Miss Philippines Earth earlier this year, Kiara explained why she should be the next Miss Philippines Earth and said, “I should be Miss Philippines Earth because I am a dreamer with a burning passion and enthusiasm to have a look at the world beyond what my eyes can see. I see this journey not as a destination, but a mission in creating a culture of change and transformation in the lives of many.”

19-year old Imelda is a pre-law student and stands tall at an astounding height of 5’7”. She will now fulfil the remaining duties and responsibilities of Imelda Schweighart as Miss Philippines Earth 2016. She is expected to work closely with newly crowned Miss Earth Katherine Espin of Ecuador.

She is a renowned model by profession and has walked the runway at fashion shows in London, showcasing the works of Filipino designers. The beauty queen is not new to the world of pageants and prior to competing at Miss Philippines Earth 2016, Kiara won Mutya ng Pilipinas United Kingdom in 2015. She was also a contestant of Miss World Philippines 2015 and was one of the top finalists.
