Miss World Peru is an annual national beauty pageant that selects representatives for the Miss World beauty pageant. The first time Peru competed in the Miss World pageant was in the year 1959, under the representation of María Elena Rossel Zapata.
Peru won its first Miss World crown in the year 1967, under the representation of Madeline Hartog-Bel. After 10 years, in 1977, Peru made it to the Top 15 finalists of Miss World under the representation of Maria Isabel Frias Zavala. In 1998, Mariana Larrabure de Orbegoso (Miss World Peru 1998) made it to the Top 10 finalists list. In 2002, Marina Mora Montero won the second runner-up title for Peru.
The last time Peru made a placement at the Miss World pageant was in the year 2012 when Giuliana Zevallos Roncagliolo made it to the Top 10 finalists.
Karla Chocano Tolentino was crowned as Miss Peru World 2015 on October 25’ 2014. She represented Peru at the Miss World 2015 pageant, however, remained unplaced.
Pierina Wong Mor was crowned as Miss Peru World 2016. She will now represent Peru at the Miss World 2016 pageant.
