Michelle Yeoh at the age of 20 won the title of Miss Malaysia 1983 and also represented Malaysia in Miss World 1983 under her delegation. The pageant win gave her the chance to rise to fame when she started acting in Hong Kong action films and is best known internationally for her roles in the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies,TheMummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and the martial arts film Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon.
In 1997 the former Miss Malaysia was listed as 50 Most Beautiful People in the World by People magazine and in 2009 the same magazine listed her as one of the 35 All-Time Screen Beauties. She has received many national and international honours. In 2015, she unveiled her wax statue at Madame Tussauds museum in Hong Kong.
