The 2013 edition of Miss Earth concluded with the crowning of Alyz Henrich from Venezuela. Alyz started her modelling career at the age of 16. Her environmental advocacy was to work and support the recollection of trash in the Los Roques archipelago to keep the waters of those islands clean. During the Q&A round of Miss Earth 2013 finale, when Alyz was asked, “How does Eco-Tourism contribute to the protection of the environment?” She said, “Because we people are responsible also for destruction our nature. We need to be aware and take care of mother earth.”
