Karema Batotele was born in DRC during war, which permitted her to turn her fears into strengths, and compassion for others. She has dedicated her life to voluntarism, raising money and awareness for different causes such as the CHEO’s organization, the Breast Cancer foundation and many more. For her actions, she was honored by the Governor General of Canada. Karema has since been cited by CBC/Radio-Canada as a role model and continues to inspire the youth by both participating and organizing concrete activities in her community. By her actions, she embodies the essence and profound meaning of beauty with a purpose.
