The coronation ceremony of Femina Miss India 2020 will be held later this year where the delegates from all over the country will compete for the national title and an opportunity to represent India at Miss World 2020 stage. While runner-up will represent India at Miss Grand International 2020 and Miss United continents 2020.
With a list of potential delegates being prepared for the competition, Apeksha Porwal has caught our attention for the title as she seems potential. She is 27-years-old and stands 173 cm tall. She is passionate about representing India at international stage.
Apeksha is not new to pageantry as she has participated in Femina Miss India 2015 where she was one of the finalists. Later she participated in Miss Diva Universe 2017 where she was adjudged as the second runner-up. She's a trained Kathak dancer and has modelled for brands like L'Oreal, Whisper, FBB. She has gained more experience and intensive knowledge about beauty pageants which will help her during the competition if she decides to participate.
She revealed that participating in a beauty pageant was something that she wanted to do since childhood. "As a kid, I used to watch Miss India on TV with my parents and my sister, and we used to all dream that one day I will be there and I will wear the crown. In fact, I did my first pageant, MTV Teen Diva, in 2009 and I won it. I won the title of Miss Teen India International 2009 and I represented India at Miss Teen International 2009 in Chicago," she said. Post that she focused on her studies and did B.A. in Economics and Statistics from St. Xavier’s College. Then she worked for two years with a social business called Janta Meals in Delhi. She had to move back to Mumbai because of personal health reasons and that’s when she thought of giving Miss India another shot.
Apeksha participated in Miss India Delhi 2015 and was in the Top 20 and revealed that even though she didn’t win, she knew that it was something that she needed and had to work hard to reach at the top. Since then, the diva has worked hard and dedicated herself towards winning the pageant. She worked on her communication, presentation, my mental and physical fitness, and joined ballet classes to improve her stance and posture.
The diva was asked about her color complexion in one of her interviews, to which she replied, "I am a dusky girl myself and have always been proud of it. I was privileged to be born in a family where being dusky wasn't even a topic of conversation. It was the most natural thing ever and my upbringing made me own it."
Recently, Apeksha revealed that she has been working on Applause Entertainment’s upcoming web-series thriller series “Undekhi” and is ready to make her screen debut. It is a crime-thriller, and the first look was released last week. The actress plays one of the lead characters. “I started my acting training before (participating in) Miss India. It was after a workshop with Neeraj Kabi and another with Atul Mongia that I really got into it. So, I enrolled to a nine-month method-acting diploma program," she explained. She is excited and very grateful for the opportunities she has received till now and will be receiving in future and she believes that once you start dreaming and working towards them, things eventually fall into the places.
She believes in the quote “One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching.” She can be a tough competition to all the other delegates at Miss India 2020 if she decides to participate as she is experienced, strongly opiniated, comfortable, and hard working to reach at the end of her goal. If she decides to participate, she can be a potential representative of India at Miss World 2020 stage as she is not only beautiful and confident but also very intelligent and quick with her answers. She works on her communication, body postures, angles, on-stage walk everyday which will surly help her during the competition.
