Miss Universe Philippines organization recently extended the deadline of the new applications until 22nd February 2022 as the applicants were given more time to prepare for the ‘Phenomenal Sisterhood’.
Ghenesis Latugat, who was crowned Miss Baguio City 2021 on 16th October 2021, is all set to represent Baguio City at Miss Universe Philippines 2022. The 22-year-old stunning beauty is an Architect in the making, currently in her 4th year at Saint Louis University.
Preparing for her stint, Ghenesis was also quoted saying, “It’s true what they say, when there’s a fire lit within you, there’s no stopping it. I can’t wait to bring my city, my people, and my heritage on my journey to the universe!”
Ghenesis is an alumna of Tabuk City National High School and completed Science Technology Engineering from the University of the Cordilleras Senior High School with Honors. She also won ‘Best in Performing Arts’ award.
Ghenesis wishes to use her platform to campaign against bullying and to promote self-love. She states, “This time I realized that this is a great platform to voice out my advocacy and motives as a beauty queen. After three years of not joining any pageants, my insecurity of myself built up. That's why my advocacy focuses on ‘Stop bullying and Promote Self-love’.”
Not new to the pageantry, the stunning beauty has participated in the local pageants since a young age; Ghenesis first joined a beauty pageant when she was 14 and still in high school. Her first attempt resulted in her winning the Miss Tabuk City National High School of 2014. Her other titles include Ms. St. Joseph - Innandilla 2015 2nd Runner-Up; Ms. Tabuk City Agriculture 2016; Miss Silka 2016; Ms. Baguio 4th Runner-Up 2016; Ms. Cordillera Queen of Festivals 2016 and Ms. Sophie La Trinidad 2017 2nd Runner-up.
Ghenesis will definitely be a strong contender for the national crown if she maintains her preparations with the same hard work and determination. Who would like to see Ghenesis win Miss Universe Philippines 2022 and represent her country at the international stage?
