In the beginning of the year Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa was all set to leave her pageants days behind her and focus on her acting career. Just after the release of her first flick ‘Ang Panday’, Kylie was all pepped up to make a career in movies. Then she gave another hit in the movie Kasal.

Verzosa stressed that she would rather be known for her acting skills than have stardom just for her pageantry and looks. “I’m happy with where my career is going because, coming from a pageant background, you’re trying to see what’s next for you and move from that industry,” she said in an interview with a media outlet.

“As I started, I began to learn to love acting. I have this desire to be really good at something, and I want to be good at acting, not being an artista,” she added.

“My fairy role was more like being a beauty queen. She feels like she is above everyone, she’s the queen of the whole forest,” she said of her role in “Ang Panday” starring Coco Martin.

“But for this role, it’s something different and something I’m excited for people to see because it’s a side they’ve never seen before,” she continued as she talked about her character in “Kasal”. The movie also stars Bea Alonzo, Paulo Avelino, and Derek Ramsay.

Kylie explained further, “It taps into deeper emotions like anger and revenge, so it’s something heavier. I’m happy that direk Ruel S. Bayani was able to bring a different side of me.”

Kylie will also soon be seen in an upcoming movie with the working title “Abay Babes.”
