With Samantha Ashley Lo’s resignation from her title of Miss Grand Philippines 2019 right after she represented Philippines in Miss Grand International 2019 last year, the speculations began on who will be taking over the title of Miss Grand Philippines. While plenty of rumours were spread about the replacement, only one name sufficed and it was none other than Aya Abesamis Binibining Pilipinas 2019 first runner-up.

The stunning Aya Abesamis has carried the burden of being a daughter of a ‘pageant royal’ as her mother is none other than Miss Universe 1984 3rd runner-up Desiree Verdadero-Abesamis. Having faced a lot of challenges in her pageant career, her journey has not been easy but surely has been fruitful. Aya began her career in Binibining Pilipinas 2018 where she gained as much experience as she could and placed in the Top 15 at the end of the event finale. It was a job well-done for a first timer.

In 2019, Aya came back with more maturity and experience to Binibining Pilipinas 2019 as she showed everyone that she would not be let down by the small failures of life. At the end of the coronation night, Aya came out victorious as she placed as the first runner-up at the national pageant. Aya has shown tremendous potential to become an international queen and its safe it say ‘pageantry is in her blood’.

After Samantha’s resignation as the official Binibining Philipinas Grand International 2019, Aya has been officially addressed by the Bininbing Pilipinas as the Miss Grand Philippines 2019-2020 which has confirmed it for everyone that she has been completing her reigning responsibilities. Aya is a stunning Filipina beauty and will surely the Philippines’ flag high if she participates in an international pageant.  Since Aya has just gotten her national title, its safe to say she could be considered to represent Philippines at Miss Grand International 2020. She sure has the looks, height, maturity, experience and intelligence to be a tough competition for the other delegates.
