Maria Psilou has been crowned as The Star Hellas 2017 and will now represent Greece in the 66th Miss Universe 2017 which will be held later in this year.

20 year old, Maria Psilou is a student of Philosophy at the University of Patras. She is also a trained Tae Kwon Do player. Maria loves to dance and perform kick boxing, and has won various prizes in both. This is not the first title for her, as Maria was crowned as Miss Peloponnese a few weeks ago.

The competition was held in a hotel in Oropos with the jury consisting of Spyros Mouzakitis, Dimitris Giotis, Athena Traoulis, Giorgos Karatzas and Emilias Malandrakis. It was really difficult for the judges to choose one winner. Maria already had some experience in the world of pageantry.

At the same event, Theodora Soukia was also crowned as Miss Hellas 2017 who will represent Greece at Miss World 2017, scheduled to be held on 18th November 2017.

Star Hellas is a national beauty Pageant held in Greece. Corinna Tsopei won the title of Miss Universe in the year 1964 for Greece. Representatives of Greece have however managed to grab the placement in top 16 several times at Miss Universe pageant.

Let’s see if this year’s representative Maria Psilou has what it takes to win the Miss Universe 2017 title.
