Mireia succeeds Lourdes Rodríguez, the Miss World Spain 2014, and will now go on to represent Spain in the Miss World contest to be held in China in December. She will be trained for the international pageant by Ricardo Rodriguez, a beauty expert.

Mireia is currently a fifth year pharmacy student in Copenhagen, Denmark. She had previously also won the Miss Atlántico International 2014 pageant held in Punta del Este, Uruguay.

Miss World Spain contestants also included the first transsexual to compete for the crown - Angela Ponce Camacho. Angela, however, failed to make it to the Top 10 finalists. Angela aspired to become Miss World Spain, writing a new chapter in the Spanish beauty contests, being the first transsexual candidate.

Spain has never won the Miss World Pageant though has made to the Top 5 at the Miss World three times with Maria del Carmen Fernández in 1961, Gloria María Valenciano in 1978 and Susana de la Llave Varón in 1988.

The beautiful and elegant Mireia seemingly has the potential to win the first ever Miss World title for her country.
