At the conclusion of the grand finale of Miss Germany 2017 held tonight, the beautiful Soraya Kohlmann (Miss Sachsen) emerged as the winner and walked away with the crown and title of Miss Germany 2017. Model by profession, Soraya is 18 years of age and stands tall at 172 cm. She succeeds Miss Germany 2016 Lena Bröder. Soraya might represent Germany at the Miss Earth 2017 pageant. At the same event, Aleksandra Rogovic (Miss Niedersachsen) was adjudged the first runner-up and Sarah Strauß (Bremen) finished as the second runner-up.
Miss Germany is the oldest and most popular beauty contest in Germany having existed since 1927. This year more than 5,000 girls auditioned for participated & auditioned for several regional pageants in Germany, and from amongst them the 21 finalists were selected who competed at the finale, sashaying in evening dresses and swimwear.
The jury for Miss Germany 2017 comprised of some eminent personalities. The jury included Jürgen Mack (Managing Partner -Europa-Park), Sarah Winkhaus (Sky journalist - TV presenter & author), Julian Fm Stoeckel (Actor/ Designer), Jo Weil (Actor), Horst Klemmer (Founder of Miss Germany Corporation), Tessy Pavelková (Chief Editor - "Neue Woche“ and "Die Exklusive!"), Alexandra Polzin (TV Presenter), CDU Politician Wolfgang Bosbach, and the beauty surgeon Werner Mang.
