The finale of Miss Alabama USA 2022 was held on Friday and Saturday, 14th – 15th January 2022 at the Gogue Performing Arts Center at Auburn University. At the end of the event finale, Katelyn Vinson was crowned the new queen by the outgoing queen Miss Alabama USA 2021 Alexandria Flanigan.
Katelyn Vinson was a sight to behold at the state finals. She will represent Alabama at Miss USA 2022. On being asked the final question which was, “If you were governor for a day, what is the one thing you would change about Alabama and why?”, she replied, “I think people in Alabama can often struggle with accepting diversity. Diversity is something that’s to be celebrated. It’s beautiful and I think that everyone in our country should celebrate all of us for our differences and our strengths and our weaknesses. And if we can just all learn to be introspective and really look inward, I think that we can find it in us to accept everyone for their own individual differences.”
The newly crowned Miss Alabama USA 2022 Katelyn Vinson’s court included –
1st Runner-up – Noelia Voigt
2nd Runner-up – Harleigh Lantrip
3rd Runner-up – Natalie Lamm
4th Runner-up – Samantha Huver
Top 10 also included Ashleigh Rye, Margaret Anne McNeill, Katherine McIntyre, Allyssa Weyant, MacKeznie Marable while Top 16 also included Valerie-Taiylor Williams, Anne Kathryn Schloss, Kali Sturgis, Abigail Smith, Shalee Winsett and Samantha Sims.
Also at the finale, AnnaLee Story was crowned Miss Alabama Teen USA 2022 and will represent Alabama at Miss Teen USA 2022. Jaycee Parker, Kensey Collins, Maddie Corbitt and Natalie Robertson were adjudged first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.
