The grand finale of Miss Universe Colombia 2018 was held on 30th September 2018 where Valeria Morales Delgado was crowned the new queen. She will now represent Colombia in Miss Universe 2018 to be held on 17th December 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand where Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters will crown the new Miss Universe.

Valeria was crowned by Miss Colombia 2017 Laura González Ospina. Laura represented Colombia in the finale of Miss Universe 2017 and became the 1st runner-up at the conclusion of the event. This puts a lot of pressure on Valeria’s shoulder as she will have to perform equally well in Miss Universe 2018, if not better.

Valeria is 20 years of age with a stellar height of 173 cm. She represented Valle in Miss Universe Colombia 2018. Valeria is currently a student of Broward College (Miami-USA) and is in her second semester in Social Communication. Apart from her mother tongue, she is also fluent in English.

Valeria is also a model by profession and loves to strut on the ramp. She was already one of the favourites during the online voting forum and has definitely proven herself as the strongest contender in the national competition. Valeria was also a part of Angelopedia’s Miss Universe Colombia 2018 Top 5 Hot Picks and was crowned against 17 other contestants competing for the same title.

At the finale of Miss Universe Colombia 2018, Isabella Atehortúa was awarded the title of Virreina Miss Universe Colombia 2018. If in any case, Valeria is unable to fulfil her duties as Miss Universe Colombia 2018, Isabella will take over her duties.

The 66th edition of the National Beauty Contest will be held on 12th November 2018 in the city of Cartagena where the newly crowned Valeria Morales will hand over the crown and the royal jewels to her successor, who will be Miss Colombia 2019.
