Angellia Ong talks about the most hurtful part of her journey as Miss Earth 2015

After being crowned as Miss Earth 2015, Angelia was at the top of the world as she created history by bringing in the first back to back title for the country. However, her win was tainted by criticism from people worldwide. Many claimed that her victory was pre-decided and that the pageant was rigged. Ong still hoped to be welcomed with all cheers and celebrations after making a back to back win.

But, none of that happened when Pia Wurtzbach ended the country's Miss Universe decades-long drought. "There was really a time. Iniyakan ko po," she admitted in an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" Wednesday.

"As a Filipina, I'm so proud of her. I adore her. I respect iyong pinagdaanan niya. Nakaka-relate po kasi ako. It wasn't also easy for me. As Miss Earth nalungkot ako ng kaunti. Hindi na ako nagkaroon ng opportunity to have a welcome home parade. Siyempre, I wasn't also able to meet the president, even the past one. Nasaktan talaga ako," she added.

Ong further added, "Pero what I did, I went back to the reason why I did this. It's not just about fame or about the attention, I joined not only for myself and my family, but also for the advocacy of the pageant, which is protecting the environment. So naging busy po ako for the past few months for the pageant."

Ong concluded by saying that she holds no grudges what so ever against Pia, in fact she really admires the Pinoy beauty and is looking forward to meeting her.

On the eve of 29th October, Angelia Ong will pass on her crown to her successor. Who do you think it will be?
