Tanaka Mio crowned Miss Earth Japan 2018

Tanaka Mio, Miss Earth Ishikawa 2018, was crowned Miss Earth Japan 2018 at the grand coronation of the pageant today at the Hotel Chinzanso, Tokyo. Tanaka succeeds and was crowned by Miss Earth Japan 2017 Yasuyo Saito.

The 24-yeaar-old Tanaka Mio hails from the Ishikawa province and was crowned Miss Earth Ishikawa 2018 on 27th May 2018. Standing tall at 178 cm, Tanaka is a model by profession and also loves music and karaoke. Her skills include piano and badminton.

The competition saw Tanaka beating 18 girls to win the title of Miss Earth Japan 2018. The other contestants that made it to the finale were Kana Ikewaki, Takeyama Hanako, Haruka Saeki, Miho Sasaki, Yuko Sakagami, Anna Hasegawa, Nana Okui, Akane Inaba, Tomoyo Morita, Mai Chiharada, Minami Fujii, Ai Matsumoto, Yuri Hosokawa, Sae Kishibuti, Narumi Yamaguchi, Yuuri Tezuka, Asuka Misu, Abe Asuka, Nana Kajimoto, Chihiro Kugita, Haruka Hayashida, Aoi Ikuma, Keiko Tanaka, Sugii Wakana, and Naga Kashikawa.

Japan has not won Miss Earth title till now. In the year 2011 and 2012, Japan managed to reach in top 16 and in the year 2010, Marina Kishira was placed in top 10. Ami Hachiya won the award for Best National costume (Asia and Oceania) at Miss Earth 2016 pageant.
