At the conclusion of grand finale held at Montecasino, Fourways in Johannesburg on 9th September 2017, Irini Moutzouris was crowned as Miss Earth South Africa 2017.
The 22 years old beauty from Klerksdorp North West bested 15 other finalists to win the title of Miss Earth South Africa 2017 and she will now represent South Africa in the finals of Miss Earth 2017 pageant to be held on 4th November 2017 in Manila, Philippines.
Three ladies who were also crowned along with Irini are:
1st runner up - Orielia Pria Egambaram from Pretoria
2nd runner up - Rose Mantsho from Polokwane
3rd runner up - Bianca Rungasamy from Durban
Miss Earth South Africa organisation also crowned two ladies as Miss Earth South Africa Ambassadors, Lebogang Mokeona from Pretoria and Marianna Christophi from Johannesburg, who will also continue to work with Miss Earth South Africa.
The outgoing queen Nozipho Magagula passed the crown to her successor and she was also among the top 16 candidates in the Miss Earth 2016 pageant.
The other finalists were: Tracy Baloyi, Annemieke van Aarde, Puseletso Rebotile Mashile, Caroline Hartog, Dikeledi Mokwane, NuraynIsmail, Naledi Igweokolo, Lauren Giani, Senong Mahlasedi and Lebogang Mahlong.
South Africa has never won the title of Miss Earth in its history. This year’s Irini Moutzouris has the chance to win the title for her country.
