Punika Kulsoontornrut of Thailand has been dethroned from her title of Miss Earth Water 2013, a title which she was awarded at Miss Earth 2013 pageant held last year in Philippines. She ceases with immediate effect to be the reigning Miss Earth Water after being dethroned by Philippines-based organizers of the pageant, Carousel Productions, Inc., for violating her contract as a titleholder.
Her dethronement was on the ground of her joining another pageant, Miss International, during her one-year reign as Miss Earth Water 2013, which was in violation of her standing contract as Miss Earth Water 2013. As per the organizers, she was informed of the same and was asked to withdraw from Miss International pageant, which she failed to do by the deadline stipulated by the organizers resulting in her dethronement.
Punika is expected to compete at Miss International 2014 pageant to be held on November 11' 2014 in Tokyo, Japan.
