Miss England 2017 finalist Codie Yau’s inspiring journey

Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations! This can be rightly used for a charming finalist of Miss England 2017 pageant. Codie Yau, one of the finalists of the contest once faced a challenging phase in her life that left her saddened.  Complaining about stomach pain was an everyday trauma she used to go through. but later on she discovered that a giant cyst was responsible for her stomach pains - despite blaming it on exam anxiety.

A 21-year-old Codie Yau, from Milton, Cambridgeshire, was told that a five-inch long cyst had been with her since birth. After a long 4 hour operation, the cyst was removed from her body. But it left her with sadness and a scar on her stomach. During the wait of a year, her life was twisted upside down. She said, “Those two months were really hard for me. I had to stop attending University, was at home a lot of the time feeling really unwell, and I went yellow with jaundice, too. I couldn't do anything as I got so exhausted.”

Despite what she had been through, Yau stood second, a position denoted to as first runner-up in the Miss Cambridgeshire beauty pageant in May 2017 competition.

She has now qualified for the Miss England finals after winning the title of Miss Popularity England 2017, as well as Miss Charity for her fundraising efforts. Yau added, “I consider myself really lucky to be well and competing, so I wanted to give something back by fundraising too.”

Well, this one was truly inspiring and she has come back to compete for the most prestigious title of Miss England 2017. May she wins the show and come up with flying colors.
