Anastasia Salvi who was crowned Miss Franche-Comté 2020 on 4th October 2020 in Morteau has been replaced by Coralie Gandelin for the title. Anastasia took to her social media to announce that she is backing out from the competition due to some personal reasons and the organization decided to name Coralie Gandelin as the new Miss Franche-Comté 2020 and will represent the province at the Miss France 2021.
Anastasia mentioned, “I am speaking to you today for an important announcement. Unfortunately, I will not be able to continue the Miss Franche Comte adventure. I would like to apologize to you, who voted for me and who may have been in the room this Sunday afternoon. You may not understand this decision but just like me, I ask you to support the one that will succeed me. I will support 200% the Miss who will live the Miss France adventure because the Miss de Franche Comté is first and foremost a story of solidarity, sharing and friendships.”
But, early today, Sylvie Tellier, general manager of the company Miss France indicated that the eviction is linked to photos contrary to the rules of the contest of Miss France. Thus, the organization decided to name the first runner-up Coralie Gandelin as the new representative of Miss Franche-Comté. Anastasia also took to her social media and address the decision by posting the pictures and mentioning, “These photos were taken in 2017 as part of an international competition for two hairstyling brands recognized in France and around the world. These photos are obviously artistic, in no case of an erotic, pornographic or other nature. I fully understand the decision of the Miss France committee but I am inevitably disappointed. Thank you to you who voted and believed in me and gave me your support.”
Coralie is 23-years-old and stands 172 cm tall and is currently in 5th year of Veterinary Medicine. The diva is full of ambition, confidence, and determination who wishes to perform her best at the competition and make the people of Franche-Comté proud. She had previously won Miss Jura 2020 scarf on 27th June 2020 and was later adjudged as the first runner-up at the finale of Miss Franche-Comté 2020.
The diva is strong, confident, and hopeful that she will be able to perform her best at the competition and with her experience she is assured that she will be able to use her skills and abilities to impress the judges and the audience at the finale night of Miss France 2021 scheduled to be held on 12th December 2020.
Coralie reacted to her unexpected appointment by stating, "Second Chance, no word could match my emotion: SADDLE for my little Ana who is withdrawing from one of her dreams. FILLED with joy and euphoria to go with you to carry the colours of Franche-Comté on 12th December 2020 in Puy-du-Fou SURPRISE by this life, so unpredictable. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you to everyone who believed in me on Sunday this scarf, it is thanks to YOU who carry me.”
She is strong, beautiful, and determined to win the title for the province and Lou strongly feels that beauty pageants are a great way for young women to express their opinions and advocacies across the world.
We wish good luck to Anastasia for her future endeavours and congratulations to Coralie.
