Miss Grand International 2018 held its Welcome Ceremony and Press Conference 8th October 2018 at Karaweik Palace on Kandawgyi Lake, Yangon, Myanmar. The finale of Miss Grand International 2018 is inching closer and closer and the Press Conference gave an insight on how well-prepared and glamorous the event and the contestants are going to be.
The event started with glimpses of previous Miss Grand International finales which showed how very royal and magnificent the Miss Grand International coronation nights have been, how every member in the audience is completely engrossed with the ongoing events on stage and just how beautiful and deserving the contestants are.
A total of five awards were given to Miss Grand International 2017 beauty pageant, namely – Best Host Country, Best Pre-Pageant Activities, Best Use of Social Media, Best Opening Number and The Pageant of the Year Award. This signifies how prestigious and well received the beauty pageant is.

The Press Conference saw the introduction of all the contestants from 80 different countries who let the world know that the 6th edition of Miss Grand International had started. The contestants wore beautiful long gowns, walking on the stage with poise and grace. They introduced their countries very enthusiastically, depicting how thankful and honoured they were to be able to get such a once in a lifetime chance to represent their nation in such a grand event.
At the conclusion of the Press Conference, Mayor of Yangon City, U Maung Maung Soe was thankful for the opportunity given to his city to become the host for Miss Grand International this year. Mr Narong BoonSatheanWong, the Charged Affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon, also greeted the audience and wished the candidates the best. At last the president of Miss Grand International Nawat Itsaragrisil came on stage and expressed how pleased and proud he was of the pageant.
The grand finale of Miss Grand International 2018 will be held on 25th October 2018 in The One Entertainment Park, Yangon where Miss Grand International 2017 Maria Jose Lora will crown the new queen.
