With a dramatic end to the grand coronation night of Miss Grand International 2018 held tonight at the One Entertainment Park, Yangon, Myanmar, Clara Sosa of Paraguay was crowned the new queen. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Grand International 2017 Maria Jose Lora.
From Asuncion, Clara Sosa is 24 years of age and stands 175 cm tall. She is model with ON Management and also a host at La mañana de Unicanal. Clara literally fainted as the news of her winning the title was announced by the host. It is clear that even the gorgeous diva was surprised by the announcement which was definitely a well-deserved one.
The newly crowned Miss Grand International 2018 Clara Sosa’s court comprised of –

Second Runner-Up – Nadia Purwoko Miss Grand Indonesia 2018

The well-organized event began with the introduction of the delegates who were presenting their countries at the coveted pageant. The contestants danced with the outgoing Miss Grand International 2017 Maria Jose Lora in their lethal black outfits as the audience cheered for their favourites.
As the competition commenced, first award of Best in National Costume was awarded to Miss Grand Peru 2018 Andrea Moberg Tobies. After that, the Top 20 delegates were announced as the competition tightened - Kimberly Gundani Miss Grand Australia 2018, Gabrielle Vilela Miss Grand Brazil 2018, Nicole Menayo Miss Grand Costa Rica 2018, Gladys Carredeguas Miss Grand Cuba 2018, Clara Mayte Brito Medina Miss Grand Dominican Republic 2018, Meenakshi Chaudhary Miss Grand India 2018, Nadia Purwoko Miss Grand Indonesia 2018, Haruka Oda Miss Grand Japan 2018, Aim Isengalieva Miss Grand Kazakhstan 2018, Lezly Diaz Miss Grand Mexico 2018, Hayley Robinson Miss Grand New Zealand 2018, Clara Sosa Miss Grand Paraguay 2018, Andrea Moberg Tobies Miss Grand Peru 2018, Nicole Marie Colon Rivera Miss Grand Puerto Rico 2018, Talia Aybedullina Miss Grand Russia 2018, Patricia Lopez Verdes Miss Grand Spain 2018, Pawani Vithanage Miss Grand Sri Lanka 2018, Hanna Louise Haag Miss Grand Sweden 2018, Moss Namoey Chanaphan Miss Grand Thailand 2018 and Biliannis Alvarez Miss Grand Venezuela 2018.
The accomplished panel of jury who had the responsibility to crown the new queen was then introduced to the audience. The panel included- Vice-President of Miss Grand International Organization, Miss Grand International 2013 Janelee Chaparro, Miss Grand International 2014 Lees Garcia, Miss Grand International 2015 Claire Elizabeth Parker, Miss Grand International 2016 Ariska Putri Pertiwi, Ivan Gunawan and Mr Htun Htun.
The Top 20 gorgeous ladies then paraded on the stage in their swimsuits looking ever so beautiful, flaunting their toned bodies. The best in Swimsuit was awarded to Miss Grand Cuba 2018 Gladys Carredeguas.
As the finale commenced, Top 10 were shortlisted from the Top 20 delegates. Before that, Miss Popular Vote was announced as Miss Grand Vietnam 2018 Bui Phuong Nga who won a straight entry into the Top 10. The rest of the delegates who won a chance to move further were Clara Mayte Brito Medina Miss Grand Dominican Republic 2018, Meenakshi Chaudhary Miss Grand India 2018, Nadia Purwoko Miss Grand Indonesia 2018, Haruka Oda Miss Grand Japan 2018, Lezly Diaz Miss Grand Mexico 2018, Clara Sosa Miss Grand Paraguay 2018, Nicole Marie Colon Rivera Miss Grand Puerto Rico 2018, Patricia Lopez Verdes Miss Grand Spain 2018, Biliannis Alvarez Miss Grand Venezuela 2018, Bui Phuong Nga Miss Grand Vietnam 2018.

As the outgoing queen, Maria Jose Lora took her walk, she gave a farewell speech in a beautiful gown as she became emotional while thanking everybody for their immense love and support. With the question and answer round held for the Top 5 delegates, the final result was set to announce by the jury.
Special awards of Best in Social Media and Best in Evening Gown were awarded to Miss Grand Indonesia 2018 Nadia Purwoko and Miss Grand Thailand 2018 Moss Namoey Chanaphan respectively.
