Lacie Choy crowned Miss Hawaii USA 2019 for Miss USA 2019

At the finale of Miss Hawaii USA 2019 held hours ago the Hawai‘i Convention Center, Lacie Choy was crowned the new queen and is now an official delegate of Hawaii in Miss USA 2019. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Hawaii USA 2018 Julianne Chu.

Lacie Choy is a 20-year-old gorgeous woman who resides in Oahu. She took to her official social media to announce her delegation and happiness in a post, “Good morning Hawaii. I still can’t believe I’m your new Miss Hawai’i USA 2019! Thank you to everyone who showed me unconditional love and support during my journey. I have big shoes to fill Julie Chu but I can’t wait to make this year my own! xo, Lacie Choy.

Competing as Miss Waikiki USA, the University of Hawaii at Manoa student beat 24 other contestants to become the 57th woman to hold the title of Miss Hawaii USA since 1962. The competition included two on-stage Q&A rounds, and Choy excelled in both.

Miss Ko Olina USA Brittany Ann Payne, Miss Kakaako USA Stephanie Wang, Miss West Oahu USA Hali‘alani Parish and Miss Oahu USA Kayli Obrero were adjudged first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.

Miss Hawaii USA 2018 Julianne Chu also welcomed her successor with open arms as she posted, “Welcome to the sisterhood! You are our new Miss Hawaii USA! I am so proud of you and have watched you grow since the Miss Waikiki USA Prelim. I can’t wait to see what you do this year! Congratulations.”

The finale of Miss USA 2019 will be held in March next year where the reigning Miss USA Sarah Rose Summers will crown her successor at the finale. The winner will go on to represent the USA in Miss Universe 2019.
