Miss International Somalia organization, through their official social media, announced Iqra Ahmed Hassan as Somalia’s first ever representative at Miss International 2023. Iqra Ahmed Hassan was previously supposed to represent Somalia at Miss Supranational 2023 but the country withdrew its participation.

Iqra is 22 years of age and is a pilot student. She is inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #5 on gender equality. Her dream goal is to use her Miss International Somalia premise to encourage other young women to pursue aviation, and STEM, therefore determining that altitude determines attitude.

Not new to the pageantry, Iqra Ahmed Hassan was crowned Miss Somalia 2022 at the finale on December 2022. With her strong advocacy, her stunning beauty and charming personality, Iqra will definitely raise her Somalia’s flag high at Miss International 2023.

Miss International 2023, the 61st edition of Miss International, is scheduled to be held at the Yoyogi Gymnasium No. 2 in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan on 26th October 2023 where Miss International 2022 Jasmin Selberg of Germany will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
