Natalee Fernando has just been confirmed the new Miss International Sri Lanka 2018 by the official Facebook page of Miss International Beauty Pageant organization. Natalee will now represent Sri Lanka in Miss International 2018 to be held on 9th November 2018 in Tokyo Dome City Hall, Tokyo, Japan where Miss International 2017 Kevil Lilliana of Indonesia will crown the next queen.
Natalee is 24 years of age from the city of Colombo. She is currently studying at the University of London to get her degree in Law. In the future, she wants to address the issue of gender equality to narrow down the gap and she also wants to be supportive towards those who have undergone the trauma of any kind.
Natalee is no stranger to the pageant world as she was crowned Miss Intercontinental Sri Lanka 2017, and even though she could not compete in the finale of Miss Intercontinental 2017, in Egypt, she was able to gain the experience required to come out as a stronger and a more confident candidate this year for her nation.
The confirmation post on the Facebook page of Miss International Beauty Pageant organization read, “Road to the crown! After a year of absence Sri Lanka is back with Natalee Fernando who was recently appointed as Miss International Sri Lanka 2018. She has quite a number of pageant titles under her belt. She is also an academic achiever. Sri Lanka was 2nd Runner-up at Miss International 2012, and since then, they have not placed in the semis. Natalee might just be the first to win the title! What do you think?”
Since Sri Lanka failed to send a delegate to Miss International 2017, Natalee succeeds Miss International Sri Lanka 2016 Ayesha Fernando. The nation is yet to pioneer its win in this prestigious beauty pageant. The closest the nation has gotten to the crown was in the year 2012 when Miss International Sri Lanka 2012 Madusha Mayadunne became the second runner-up during the finale.
