The organization of Stellar Marianas hosted a coronation ceremony on 14th March 2021 at the Hyatt Regency Saipan, where Savannah Lyn Delos Santos was crowned Miss Northern Marianas Islands 2021 and earned the opportunity to represent the Marianas at Miss International 2021. The diva succeeded Miss Marianas 2019 Shannon Tudela Sasamoto whose reign was extended in 2020 because the pageant for that year had to be canceled amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Savannah is 27-years-old and is a business administration and marketing graduate who is very excited to take over the crown duties and start her preparation for the competition where she will be representing her home country. After being crowned Miss Marianas 2021, Savannah took to her social media to share some pictures from the competition with a caption, “I have soooo much to say, but for now; THANK YOU SO MUCH. Thank you for the love, the support, the encouragement, EVERYTHING. I love you all SO much. I AM HERE BECAUSE OF YOU. Thank you for believing in me.”

During the competition, Savannah was asked about how would she like to paint the Marianas, to which she replied, “Blue, white and green. Blue because it represents the ocean, that surrounds us and keeps us safe, white because it represents the Commonwealth flower, plumeria; and green because we are surrounded by so much greenery that gives us so much life.”

The diva shared that her decision to join the competition turned out to be fun and she is so grateful that she was supported by her mother who is a survivor of domestic violence and has raised the beauty queen alone. She further explained that she initially did not believe in herself but as months passed, the girls who were also part of the same competition, encouraged the diva and motivated her to perform her best. Savannah calls this experience intimidating at times, but overall amazing.

Savannah is looking forward to creating and use the platform given to her to implement many great ideas she has wanted to work on. She stated, “I have so many great ideas that I want to implement. So…I am hoping we’ll have a good year. I am very excited and very over-whelmed but right now very grateful”.  She said she is also grateful to the people who were very supportive, and who believed in her.

The president of Stellar Marianas, Michelle Sablan stated, “She represents so many of us, and she spoke so passionately.” The diva managed to impress everyone at the pageant and has started to prepare for the competition. She is confident, determined, and focused on her goals and is looking forward to finale night.
