It’s time for the reign of Miss Nederland 2017 Nicky Opheij to end, and for the Netherlands to get a new queen for the year 2018. The casting for Miss Nederland 2018 in underway, and is now open to the, young girls that aspire to be the titleholder, and represent their country at the Miss Universe 2018 competition.
Every year Miss Nederland looks for the most beautiful in the Netherlands. And they take great advantage out of it! The Netherlands is known worldwide for the beautiful, tall girls, but they are just looking for those with that little bit extra. So that she can be a role model for other young girls.

According to their website:
We would like to be an enthusiastic, adrem, intelligent, commercial and sweet girl who is a hard worker. She is interested in social media, external care and has very social, social, regional, national and international involvement. In terms of appearance, we are looking for beautiful girls between 18 and 25 years, taller than 1.70 m and the body healthy and in proportion. The young woman must be in possession of a Dutch passport, may not be married and have no children because of the international requirements.
Aspirants of the Miss Nederlands crown are required to upload six different types of photos to the website, along with other required information. The six photos are supposed to be as such:
1. Close up of the face without make-up
2. Close up of the face with make-up
3. Any selfie that the participant wishes to share.
4. A full size picture of the contestant in daily wear.
5. A full size picture of the contestant in a bikini.
6. A fun picture that the contestant wishes to share.
In 2009, Kim Kötter became national director of the Netherlands, she was competed at the Miss Universe 2002 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Usually, Miss Nederland titleholder will compete both at the Miss Universe and Miss World pageant. In 2013, two winners were crowned as the Miss Netherlands Universe and Miss Netherlands World to represent their country at the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants, respectively. In 2016, the Miss Nederland has only had Miss Universe franchise.
