Meet Miss World Nepal 2012 Shristi Shrestha, first Nepali woman to win a placement in Miss World

Shristi Shrestha was awarded the title of Miss World Nepal 2012 at the finale of Miss Nepal 2012 held on 6th May 2012 seven years ago. With the finale just seven days away, here is the Nepali queen who won the first placement for her country in Miss World. Today, an actress and model, Shristi represented Nepal in Miss World 2012 and placed in the quarter finals (Top 20) for the first time. She was also able to achieve 8th position in Beach Beauty and was one of the top 10 contestants for the Multimedia Award. Not just this, Shristi also won the ‘Public Choice Award’ at the international pageant and placed in Top 10 dancers in Miss World 2012. All in all, it was an accomplishing year for Nepal.

As soon as she participated in Miss World 2012, Shristi automatically became a sensation in her country. She debuted in Nepali movie Gajalu opposite Anmol K.C. and then her theatre career with the role of Ophelia in Shakespeare's Hamlet, which ran for a month in the Theatre Village in Kathmandu. Having proven her worth at the international platform and then in the entertainment industry, Shristi definitely made a mark for herself and for all the other potential beauty queens who followed in her footsteps. She is also a motivation for the contestants this year as well and has definitely raised the bar high for the Nepali beauty queens.
