Eduarda Van de Sand was elected as the new Miss Paraná 2020 at the end of the beauty contest that was held on 5th September 2020 in Maringá. Due to the pandemic, the event was not open to the public but the broadcast of the finale was made through the BMW Eventos YouTube channel. She was crowned by Miss Paraná 2019 Djenifer Frey from Missal at the end of the event finale.

Eduarda is 21-years-old and is in the 4th year of law and does an internship at the Specialized Reference Centre for Social Assistance (Creas). Eduarda was the second Miss Mercedes who represented the municipality in Miss Paraná. The first participant was Miss Mercedes 2014 Ketlyn Woelfer, who was at the state rock in the state competition in 2015. The diva will represent Brazil at Miss Tourism World 2021 and later represent the province at Miss Universe Brazil 2021.

After winning the title she took to her social media and thanked everyone for their support and motivation that helped her throughout the contest. She stated, “I wish I could say so much right now, but the only word I can find is GRATITUDE! I asked for so much protection so that my path would be light, I asked that my will and the Lord's be the same, but in case it wasn't that his prevailed, and his will met mine, honoured and grateful to say that I am the new MISS PARANÁ 2020.”

Eduara has assured that she will perform her best at the competition and will make the people of Parana proud. She explained that when she was elected Miss Mecedes 2018/19, she understood the responsibilities that comes along with the crown and now with Miss Parana 2020’s crown she is ready to taken onto any challenges that comes her way. She is strong, confident, and determined to win the title. Eduara has a charming personality and would easily impress the judges and the audience at the competition.  She had mentioned in one of her posts, “It's not about reaching the top of the world and knowing that you've won, it's about climbing and feeling that the path has strengthened you. It's about being shelter and living in other hearts, and so having friends with you in all situations.”
