The 2023 edition of Miss República Dominicana Universo was held on Sunday, 3rd September 2023 at Centro de Convenciones Sambil in Santo Domingo where Mariana Downing was crowned Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2023 as she became the official representative of her country at Miss Universe 2023.

Mariana Downing is 27 years of age and a Dominican-British model and actress. She represented Sánchez Ramírez at the national competition and bested over 20 delegates to win the national crown. Mariana has also worked with charities such as the Jack Brewer Foundation & Habitat for Humanity.

Along with Mariana, Yamilex Hernández of La Vega was adjudged Miss International Dominican Republic 2023 while Melissa Domínguez of Santo Domingo de Guzmán was adjudged Reina Hispanoamerican Dominican Republic 2023.

Top 5 also included Eoanna Constanza of Distrito Nacional and Chantal Silliman of Santiago while Top 10 also included Heidy Rosado of Barahona, Celinda Ortega of Com. Dom. En USA, Leonela González of Com. Dom. En Puerto Rico, Yuli Mercedes of La Romana, and Amelia Ramírez of San Cristóbal.

Mariana succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Sominican Republic 2022 Andreína Martínez Founier who represented her country at Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans and was placed as the second runner-up.

Miss Universe 2023, the 72nd edition of Miss Universe, will be held in El Salvador on 18th November 2023 where Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel of USA will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
