Miss South Africa 2018 held its evening of glitz and glamour as the grand finale saw an eccentric performance by the 12 finalists of the competition. Tamaryn Green was crowned Miss South Africa 2018 by the outgoing queen Adè van Heerden.
Tamaryn Green will now represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2018 where Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, also from South Africa, will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. Tamaryn beat 11 other dazzling young women from across the country to scoop the prestigious crown.
The 23-year-old is a medical student from the Western Cape. Tamaryn bowled judges over when she told them that she would use her medical knowledge to heal people. "I want to empower women to be the best version of themselves."

Also present at the occasion was Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters looking ever so beautiful in a sophisticated grey figure-hugging gown and got major love from her home audience. Bonang Matheba lived up to her title as 'host with the most' as she blew the live audience and viewers at home away with her on-point presenting skills.
The pageant also marked the completion of its 60 years and thus saw nearly 40 former Miss South Africa title holders taking to the stage for a beautiful tribute.
Also at the competition, for the first time, a separate representative to Miss World 2018 was announced. Thulisa Keyi, the other Top 2 contestant, was designated the title of Miss World South Africa 2018.
We’d like to offer our heartiest congratulations to the newly crowned queen and all the best for her upcoming ventures.
