The grand finale of the 2022 edition of Miss South Carolina was held on 4th-5th March 2022 at North Charleston, South Carolina where Meera Bhonsle was crowned the new queen. Miss South Carolina USA 2021 Marley Stokes of Lexington crowned her successor at the end of the event finale.

Meera Bhonsle gave a stellar performance at the state finals. She is a multimedia journalist who was born and raised in Lexington. Bhonsle is of Indian and Hispanic descent. Fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi, Marathi and German, Meera also speaks basic Italian.

She attended the University of South Carolina where she earned a bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism and a cognate in retail marketing. Not new to the pageantry, it was her fourth attempt as she was Miss South Carolina USA 2019 fourth runner-up. Then, she competed at Miss South Carolina USA 2020, she finished in the Top 10 and won the Miss Photogenic award.

After that, she competed at Miss South Carolina USA 2021, she finished in the Top 10. Her strong pageantry experience and her determination got her the crown finally. The newly crowned queen’s court included –

1st Runner-up – Riley Copans

2nd Runner-up – Liza Walker

3rd Runner-up – Katie Mode

4th Runner-up – Davia Bunch

Top 10 also includes Brooklyn Brewster, Jada Samuel, Sydney Sprenger, Mattie Sloan, Jadyn McDonough while Top 16 also included Kaitlyn Jordan, Maritsa Platis (photogenic award winner), Ariel Smith, Laney Quickel, Alexandra Stewart (People’s choice award winner), Farrell Griffin. Miss Congeniality award was won by Caitlin Russell.
