Miss Teen USA 2022, the 40th edition of the pageant, was held on 1st October 2022 at Grand Sierra Resort, Reno, Nevada, United States where Faron Medhi of Nebraska was crowned the new winner. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Teen USA 2021 Breanna Myles of Florida.
Faron Medhi is 18 years of age and a high school graduate and model from Omaha. She became the first teen representative from Nebraska to win Miss Teen USA since 1983. She graduated from Millard North High School. She is expected to attend the Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona this fall to pursue biology.
The newly crowned Miss Teen USA 2022 Faron Medhi’s court included –
1st Runner-up – Jenna Beckstrom of Idaho
2nd Runner-up – Cassidy Hill of California
3rd Runner-up – Isabella Mosqueda of Michigan
4th Runner-up – McKinley Farese of Tennessee
A number of special awards were presented at the finale as well; Miss Congeniality was awarded to Janae McIntosh of Nevada, Miss Photogenic went to Gabriela Ortega of North Carolina and Best State Costume was awarded to three divas as the 1st place went to Haleigh Hurst of Oklahoma, 2nd place went to Gabriela Ortega of North Carolina and 3rd place went to Sage Gundelly of Wisconsin.
Top 16 also included MayaDenise Gaskin (Arizona), Alyssa Khan (Florida), Courtney Ianna Smith (Georgia), Malulani Paiste (Hawaii), Marisa Mathson (Iowa), Gracie Hendrickson (Kansas), Janae McIntosh (Nevada), Gabriela Ortega (North Carolina), Kylan Darnell (Ohio), Haleigh Hurst (Oklahoma), Sage Gundelly (Wisconsin).
This year's Miss Teen USA pageant was hosted by Miss USA 2021 Elle Smith of Kentucky and FYI correspondent Christian Murphy. The accomplished panel of jury included former Miss Teen USA winners Keylee Sanders Helmich and Kaliegh Garris, Puerto Rican makeup artist Allan Aponte, American public affairs consultant Bob Hartnagel, chief commercial officer of SeneGence Anita Krpata, and TV host Tanya Memme (former Miss World Canada).
