At the conclusion of the grand finale of Miss Universe Ethiopia held at the Villaverde Restaurant in Addis Ababa, Akinahom Zergaw was crowned as Miss Universe Ethiopia 2017 and she will now represent Ethiopia in Miss Universe 2017 pageant to be held on 26th November 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the same event, Misker Kasahune and Frezewde Solomon were declared as first runner-up and second runner-up respectively. With Akinahom, Ethiopia is returning to Miss Universe after the gap of 2 years.
Akinahom is 21 years of age and stands tall at an astounding height of 175 cm. She is a professional model and has graced various events with her catwalk. She has previously competed in various regional pageants as well and also won several prizes over the years working as a model, designer and a pageant girl. With her beautiful smile and well-toned body she works as a model for various local agencies.
After winning the title Akinahom expressed her happiness by saying, “I am grateful to my parents as they made me what I am today and I am now excited to represent my country in Miss Universe 2017”.
