Urvashi Rautela represented India at Miss Universe India 2015 where she was appreciated for her performance but unfortunately couldn’t be placed at the top position. She is the only woman in the history to win the title of Miss Universe India twice as she had to relinquish her title Miss Universe India 2012 because she was underage but she participated again and then won Miss Universe India 2015.
Since her stint at Miss Universe 2015, Urvashi has went onto become an actress and a super model who has appeared in movies including Singh Saab the Great (2013) and appeared in films like Sanam Re (2016), Great Grand Masti (2016), Hate Story 4 (2018) and Pagalpanti (2019).
Recently, the diva expressed her happiness on social media as she will making her international debut on-screen soon. She stated, “It’s surreal my first International film project titled “AISLADOS” out soon! I have been representing India from the very beginning. It started with the Miss Tourism World stage in 2011 China, Miss Asian Supermodel in South Korea and Miss Universe stage 2015 in Las Vegas.”
Urvashi feels blessed that her efforts have been appreciated and recognized by the people and she is very excited to represent India at a global level. She states that “I’m a proud Indian and wear that on my sleeve. It’s humbling to be on the receiving end of such love, support and acceptance for me as an entertainer in new geographies.” She is excited to be a part of such a prestigious project and feels that she is finally living her dreams.
Being a super model and an actress, Urvashi recently shared her concerns about stars being under constant pressure to look good. She explained, “When you're an actor, a star, you have to look driven and fit. Stars are always under the pressure to look good -- not only female stars but the males too." She stated that since this is a digital age, one who is at a stature must look presentable in order to look inspiring and avoid the negative comments people speak.
Urvashi is also gearing up for the release of her film ‘Virgin Bhanupriya’ on an OTT platform. The film also stars Gautam Gulati, Archana Puran Singh, Delnaaz Irani, Rajiv Gupta and Brijendra Kala, Niki Aneja Walia and Rumana Molla.
