Miss Universe Nepal 2020, the first edition of the pageant under the guidance of Nagma Shrestha, was held tonight i.e. 30th December 2020 where Anshika Sharma was crowned the new queen. She succeeds Miss Universe Nepal 2019 Pradeepta Adhikari and will represent Nepal at Miss Universe 2020.
Anshika impressed everyone with her confidence and stunning beauty at the competition. She rose to fame when she was adjudged the first runner-up at the conclusion of Miss Nepal Oceania 2020 held on 14th March 2020 in Australia. The 23-year-old stunner works as a Sales Analyst professionally. At the finale as well, Anshika made sure she was a standout with her strong answers and mesmerizing walk. Anshika was a part of our favourites for the crown as well. The finale was held under strict covid-19 guidelines as the hosts and performers entertained throughout the show.
The newly crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2020 Anshika Sharma’s court included –
1st Runner-up – Sujita Basnet
2nd Runner-up – Nina Kant Mandal
3rd Runner-up – Dikta Thapa
4th Runner-up – Nancy Khadka
After grueling challenges and activities through virtual training because of rampant spread of covid-19, the class of 2020 was made up with 18 delegates who performed at the finale. They were then cut down to 10 finalists who were Parichhya Bista, Nina Kant Mandal, Sujita Basnet, Anshika Sharma, Priya Sigdel, Roshani Khatri, Dikta Thapa, Arika Ranabhat, Paramita Rana and Nancy Khadka.

The Top 10 girls were then asked questions by the accomplished panel of jury who gave thirty seconds to each contestant to test their fluency and language skills. The final cut of Top 5 was made which included Nina Kant Mandal, Sujita Basnet, Anshika Sharma, Dikta Thapa and Nancy Khadka. There sure was a little disappointment amongst the audience as Priya Sigdel could not make it to the Top 5.

A number of special awards were also announced at the finale; Miss Lifestyle award went to Sujita Basnet, Miss Fierce award was awarded to Anshika Sharma while Miss Fabulous went to Nancy Khadka. The first edition, all in all, was a successful event for the organization.
