Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Top 52: Carissa Rozil

With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines, i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020, will be hosted on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila.

Carissa Rozil has become the official representative of Surigao del Norte for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 after she was confirmed at the red-carpet presentation held in Manila. Carissa is 19-years-old and is studying Humanities and Social Science from Surigao State College of Technology.

Carissa has always been passionate about pageantry and dreamt of representing Philippines at Miss Universe platform. She is not new to the pageantry and has been a part and winner of Binibining Tourism Dapa 2018. She later participated in Panaghiusa Festival Queen 2019 and was crowned as the first runner-up. She decided to participate in Miss Universe Philippines 2020 in order to fulfil her dream of being a Philippines representative. This is her first national pageant and she is very excited and humbled to be a part of such prestigious beauty pageant.

Carissa believes in the motto " A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step " and works hard to be the best in whatever she does. She is hardworking, determined and focused towards winning the pageant and earning her opportunity to represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020 stage.

Carissa has a beautiful face that compliments her positive personality and she works hard to maintain her beautiful body too. She is very serious about her fitness and makes time to workout in the gym every day. She is working on her speech, on-stage walk and body postures for the finale event.

Carissa has been very thankful to all the people who have always supported her and motivated her to walk towards her dream. She is very confident and strong with her mind on winning the title. She shared a post on her social media with a caption, “To become an official candidate of Miss Universe Ph 2020 is already an achievement for me. Many young aspiring beauty queens went through a screening yet few were chosen and was given the chance to slay on national stage! And I was one of those lucky and blessed aspirants who were dreaming of joining this national pageant.” She is extremely blessed to represent the Province of Surigao del Norte.

Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados will crown her successor by the end of the event finale. The pageant aims to encourage Filipina women to become empowered individuals, who also embody the mission of being agents of meaningful change wherever they are. It trains participants to become role models, pursuing personal and professional goals, while also leaving and inspiring positive impact in society.
