Will Pauline Amelinckx follow the footsteps of Gaizini Ganados to win Miss Universe Philippines 2020?

25 Mar 2020 | Angelique Reyes

Pauline Amelinckx is an official representative of Bohol at Miss Universe Philippines 2020 pageant. Pauline is 24-years-old and has earned her bachelor’s degree in in International Studies, major in European Studies at the Cebu Doctors' University in Mandaue City, Cebu and she currently works as a Retail and Sales Consultant at CWC Interiors in Taguig.

Pauline is no stranger to the pageant world as she was crowned Miss Bohol 2017 and Miss JCI Philippines 2017. She also performed well at the finale night of Mutya Ng Pilipinas 2018 while she competed in that also and she won two special awards named Mutyang Zen Institute and Miss Avon Fashion. Pauline Amelinckx was crowned Miss Global Beauty Queen Philippines 2018 during the grand finale of Mutya Ng Pilipinas 2018 on 16th September 2018. She was supposed to represent the country in Miss Global Queen but it didn’t happen due to tension in the Middle East.

Pauline advocates to use art and create a children's colouring book to raise awareness in kids, at an earlier age, regarding the environment they live in where she hopes that the awareness will in turn develop love and a sense of protection in the kids. She chose this because drawing and making doodle is her form of self-expression. And with her art, she wants this to become her personal advocacy. Her goal is to start on a small scale and hopefully extend her reach perhaps with more colouring books focused on different aspects of the environment and wildlife. And she is also hoping to teach kids how to draw certain things so that they too may be able to use it as a form of self-expression.

The interesting fact of Pauline’s win at Miss Bohol 2017 is that Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados was also a part of the same competition. Where Pauline was crowned Miss Bohol 2017, Gazini was adjudged the title of first runner-up. Gazini went onto participate at Binibining Pilipinas 2019 where she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2019 and earner her chance to represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2019. She also won the title of Best in Evening Gown and Miss Photogenic during the competition.

Gazini Ganados represented the Philippines at Miss Universe 2019 competition on 8th December 2019 at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States. During the final competition, Ganados talked about her advocacy focused on elderly care in her opening statement, after she entered as one of the 5 wildcards to complete the Top 20, marking the second time the Philippines had entered the Miss Universe semi-finals as a wildcard contestant since Rachel Peters' Top 10 placement in 2017. Ganados won the national costume competition with her Philippine eagle inspired ensemble, becoming the second Filipina to win the award after Charlene Gonzales in 1994.

Even though Gazini Ganados didn’t make it to the top of the beauty pageant, she is one of the most remembered contenders of Miss Universe 2019. She was fierce, bold and strong throughout the competition and made her presence felt wherever she was.

Pauline Amelinckx who was crowned Miss Bohol 2017 is now a part of the same platform as Gazini and many people have high expectations from Pauline to win the crown. She is strong, confident and self-assured that she can win the crown and make Philippines proud. Gazini and Pauline share a special bond where the two have a lot of things common but most importantly, the desire to take the crown of Miss Universe 2020 back home.

Pauline is expected not only to follow the steps of her dear friend Miss Universe 2019 Gazini Ganados but work twice as hard so that she can win the national title and later the title of Miss Universe 2020. She has already started to prepare herself for the national competition and is ready to give a tough fight to other contenders in order to win.

Do you think she can follow Gazini’s footsteps and win the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 title and eventually win the title of Miss Universe 2020 for Philippines?
