Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo determines to make an impact with ambassador for education title

The first edition of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 was held on 25th October 2020 at Cordillera Convention Hall, Baguio, where Rabiya Mateo from Iloilo city was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and became the official representative of Philippines at Miss Universe 2020.

The organization announced the official titles for the top five winners of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and the runner ups shot a small video explaining what their titles meant to them a few days ago. In her video, Rabiya explained that with she is passionate about educating people and with her title as Miss Universe Philippines 2020 comes a voice and a platform after which she believes that people not only in the Philippines but across the world would listen to her and she wants to make the best use of it. The Ilongga beauty mentioned that her new role as an ambassador of education was a mutual decision between her and the Miss Universe Philippines organization.

Rabiya shared that there is so much improvement she wants to see in her country and with her experience in the field, she can relate herself to the people, students, and lecturers as well and use the platform to create opportunities for everyone. The queen has shared her story about financial challenges she had to face while growing up as a student and would use the opportunity given by the Miss Universe Philippines’ organization to make the best use of it so that no one must face the challenges when it comes to education. “I want to share my story to those children who are experiencing the same hardships. I want to inspire and motivate them to achieve greater things in their lives,” she shared.

Rabiya had mentioned, “As your Ambassador for Education, my goal is to go to different schools all over the country and offer any help we can give.” The diva has a project Feed Me and I Read You Program where she teaches the students of elementary school has made her realize the importance of education in the community and she would do as much as it takes to provide education to the people of her community.
