Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo is all set to begin her journey at Miss Universe 2020 as she departed for the USA today, i.e. 9th April 2021. Rabiya is hoping to bring the fifth Miss Universe crown for her country.
Rabiya boarded her flight in time for pre-pageant activities ahead of finale in May. Rabiya took to her social media as she wrote, “I will pour all my strength into this battle and I will say high on my forehead, 'I am honored to be a modern Filipina in mind, heart, spirit, word and deed.”
Rabiya, with her face mask and five-piece luggage, waved the Filipina high shortly before entering the airport.
Rabiya is the first Miss Universe Philippines title winner who was crowned by Miss Universe Philippines organization which had acquired the national license of the pageant, formerly held by Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. for half a century.
The Philippines has so far produced four Miss Universe winners - Gloria Diaz in 1969, Margie Moran in 1973, Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, and Catriona Gray in 2018.
Miss Universe 2020 is all set to be held on 16th May 2021 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States where Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa willcrown her successor at the end of the event finale.
We’d like to wish the stunning Filipina beauty all the very best for her stint at Miss Universe 2020.
