With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be hosted on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila.
Zandra Nicole Sta Maria has become the official representative of Pasay for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 after she was confirmed at the red-carpet presentation held in Manila. Zandra stands 180cm tall with a Cumlaude graduate at University of Santo Tomas with a degree in BS Travel Management. She works as a flight attendant at Philippines Airlines and a professional model.
Zandra stepped into the world of beauty pageants when she participated in Supermodel Philippines 2012 and was crowned as first runner-up. She later represented Philippines at Miss Model of the World in 2012 but was unplaced. She has returned to the stage where if she wins, she will earn an opportunity to represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020.
Zandra has expressed her gratitude and love for everyone who helped her to reach where she is at today. Zandra has a strong personality yet balanced and modest heart which is her advantage. Her preferred choice of fashion or style is edgy that would make some heads turn. She is very calm and composed on stage and has started to prepare for the big event finale. She has a good command over her speech but still likes to practice speech and interview sessions with her team to finesse it for the competition.
Zandra is very committed towards winning her first ever national title that she has participated for and has worked very hard for making her place among the beautiful divas from all over the country. She is very kind, humble and appreciable towards everything in life and her optimism towards her goals is commendable. She takes her fitness seriously and her toned and beautiful body says it all. She tries to work out everyday and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Zandra is an advocate of self-love and wants to use the platform of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 to reach out to young women who still find it hard to love or accept themselves. She wants to tell them that it’s okay to be as you are and should not listen to people who try to demean or let them down. She is very close to her family and friends and likes to spend time with them especially near the beach area. She can be a strong contender for the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 because of her devotion to the pageant and her desire to win.
Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados will crown her successor by the end of the event finale. The pageant aims to encourage Filipina women to become empowered individuals, who also embody the mission of being agents of meaningful change wherever they are. It trains participants to become role models, pursuing personal and professional goals, while also leaving and inspiring positive impact in society.
