Zahra Khanum crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2018

Miss Universe Singapore 2018 was held on 31st August 2018 at the One Farrer Hotel where 15 beautiful and deserving candidates competed for the national title. Zahra Khanum was crowned the new queen by her predecessor Miss Universe Singapore 2017 Manuela Blanka Bruntraeger.

The 21-year-old Zahra Khanum is a Sociology graduate from the National University of Singapore. She was a finalist in The New Paper New Face in 2016 and has since travelled to Pakistan, Vietnam and China to organize charities and fund raisers.

1st Runner-Up - Tiong Jiaen

2nd Runner-Up - Jaslyn Tan

The Top 5 finalists of Miss Universe Singapore 2018 included – Zahra Khanum, Tiong Jia En, Tyen Rasif, Mohanaprabha and Jaslyn Tan. Mohanaprapha also won the title of Miss Congeniality.

As Miss Universe Singapore 2018, through her reign, Zahra wants to give back to society and especially to children. She was raised by her single mother who she sees as the greatest pillar of support. Zahra is of Pakistani and Kashmiri descent and since she has never been to her homeland, she wishes to go and visit these areas in the near future.

Zahra wants to be an inspiration for the people who have been brought up in difficult situations like she was, and wants to prove to them that hardwork and dedication are the keys to overcome all adversities.
