Gabriella Deyi of Madison was crowned Miss Wisconsin USA 2020 on 8th September 2019. The coronation ceremony was held at Fond du Lac High School Performing Arts Center. She succeeds Miss Wisconsin USA 2019 Danika Tramburg of Richfield. Gabby will represent Wisconsin for the title of Miss USA 2020 during spring of 2020.
Gabriella Deyi is 27 years old, currently working as a television broadcast journalist and personality in Madison. She holds a degree in science and started working after graduating. She left her monotonous job and pursued what she wanted to do since she was a little girl.
Believing in motto “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life”, Gabby wants to be a catalyst for people to tell their stories with confidence. Gabby wants to focus on mental health awareness and breaking down the stigma that comes with it.
Mother diagnosed with Bipolar 1 disorder and brother with clinical depression, Gabriella Deyi has personally felt how it feels to be around people who you love dealing with their own battles every day. She doesn’t want anyone to feel alone but acknowledge that there are many others just like them. She urges people to find strength in weakness or seek professional help to fight battles with mental illness.
She acknowledges her father for encouraging her to be the voice for the voiceless. She is very clear and ardent to prioritize her mental health and reassures people that they should too. She wants to be a part of anything she can; that will spread hope when it comes to washing away the “embarrassment” that comes with mental illness.
Gabby speaks fluent Spanish because of her parents being immigrants. She is an avid traveler and has travelled 45 countries so far. She is a trained figure skater, loves bowling and self-taught indoor rock climber.
Gabreilla Deyi feels extremely honored to be representing Wisconsin for the title of Miss USA 2020. Olivia Lulich of Lyndon Station was crowned Miss Wisconsin Teen USA 2020 and will be representing Wisconsin for the title of Miss USA Teen 2020.
