Skylar Witte has been crowned as Mss Wisconsin USA 2017 at the conclusion of the pageant held on 12th September 2016 at the Fond du Lac Performing Arts Center in Fond du Lac. Skylar will now compete as Wisconsin for the coveted title of Miss USA 2017. “It was a surreal moment,” Skylar said, noting she is still “on cloud nine.”

19 years old Skylar grew up in before moving during high school. Skylar graduated in 2015 from D.C. Everest High School in Weston. The beauty queen is studying political science and communication arts. “I’m hoping to go to law school,” she said. Apart from her studies, Skylar has a modelling career and has made it to various magazines and catalogs as well as on numerous websites. “My modeling career has really taught me that you can create your own opportunities as long as you’re ready and willing to work,” she said.

Skylar said that she wants to change the misconception people have about pageantry; in fact she was honoured to share the stage with such strong and intelligent women. “(Pageantry) teaches you so much about yourself, and, again, you get to meet so many extraordinary women,” she said. “And you grow so much.”
At the same pageant, Abby Bryson of Brookfield was crowned as Miss Wisconsin Teen USA 2017. She will represent Wisconsin at Miss Teen USA 2017. Wisconsin has just had seven placements in Miss USA pageant. The highest placement was in 1974 when Mary Cook made it to the second runner-up position.
