A few months ago, we informed you about Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen’s digital debut and today we’ve some more exciting news for the pageant fanatics who wish to see their loved beauty queens more often on-screen.
If the rumors are to be believed, Aishwarya Rai will start working for her digital debut with a dear friend and co-star Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh came across a script that he has recommended to Aishwarya Rai due to his closeness with the family. Aishwarya’s husband Abhishek who will make his digital debut with ‘Breathe 2’ has convinced the beauty queen to make her digital debut once the situation in the world calms down. As many might be aware recently, Shah Rukh has produced a successful movie starring Amitabh Bachchan. He is also currently bankrolling one featuring Abhishek Bachchan. It doesn’t, therefore, come to a surprise that SRK has something for Aishwarya Rai, too in his lot. Aishwarya will start working for the project after the Covid-19 lockdown is lifted.
More details about the project are not known yet except that Netflix would distribute it. Red Chillies’ Entertainment and Netflix have formed a partnership under which a project is already out, and a few more are under production. This web series of Aishwarya will be directed by women directors, whose name has not been revealed yet. When everything will be final, a formal announcement will be made shortly thereafter.
The diva currently has Mani Ratnam’s ambitious project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ on hand which she will resume work on once shoots are allowed. She is also said to be in talks with director Pradeep Sarkar for his next based on the life of the 19th-century courtesan and actor Binodini Das. She is believed to have liked the first narration but things haven’t progressed further due to the lockdown.

Aishwarya is a UN Microcredit Spokesperson. She supports PETA India. She has pledged to donate her eyes to the Eye Bank Association of India and appeared in a public awareness film on eye donation. In 2009 Rai was appointed as the first Goodwill Ambassador of Smile Train, an international charity that provides free Cleft lip and palate surgery to children in need. Her work with Smile Train will focus not only on India, but on 76 different developing countries around the world.
