It all started with the red carpet walk for the MET Gala as Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra and singer Nick Jonas strutted together wearing their Ralph Lauren creations. After a few months, rumours of them dating surfaced online and in no time, it was announced that the lovely couple is engaged to be married.
Recently, the location of their marriage was revealed, and it would be a sin to assume that they would get married anywhere less than a palace. Yes, they are getting married in one of India’s best destination wedding locations - Umaid Bhavan, Jodhpur.
The wedding ceremony is slated to take place Sunday and guests have already started arriving. Amongst those who have arrived are Joe and Kevin Jonas, Nick’s brothers and his parents. Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra was also seen arriving in Jodhpur along with Parineeti Chopra, Priyanka’s cousin. Game of Thrones star and Joe’s fiancèe, Sophie Turner was also seen at the airport with the lot.
On 26th November 2018, Priyanka, Nick, Joe and Sophie were seen landing in Mumbai where they celebrated at a restaurant in Juhu Beach. On 27th November 2018, the family held a traditional Indian prayer called the Ganesh Puja to show their reverence to God. Yesterday, the couple and their families arrived in Jodhpur ahead of their marriage.
The Mehendi and Sangeet ceremonies, which are widely celebrated in Indian traditional weddings, are going to take place today and tomorrow. While the former ceremony will see the bride and her female friends covering their hands in henna tattoos, the sangeet ceremony with being filled with music and lots of entertainment as both Priyanka and Nick’s family with being officially introduced to each other.
On Sunday, the couple will finally say “I do” to each other in a traditional Indian wedding, followed by a Christian wedding in the same Palace, but a different location which Nick’s father will officiate. Priyanka is expected to wear a Ralph Lauren gown yet again which is a very sweet thing considering it all started with Priyanka and Nick wearing the same designer one fine day!
