Finally the reigning Miss World, Mireia Lalaguna is in Russia and the lady took up her duties and responsibilities and duties as soon as she reached Russia. Mireia is in Russia to support the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS. Mireia also met Sofia Nikitchuk, Miss Russia 2015, for the first time after the coveted pageant Miss World 2015 took place in Sanya, China on December 19’ 2016.

Mireia and Sofia together reached a lab at the Center for Molecule Diagnosis of Rospotrebnadzor's Central Research Institute of Epidemiology to conduct a HIV test in support of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV / AIDS 90-90-90 initiative. Both the beauty queen did a HIV support to initiate a step for the cause.
Speaking to the press following the testing, the regional director of UNAIDS Vinay Saldanha said that what the program aims for by the year 2020 is, "90 percent of people with HIV to know their HIV status. 90 percent of these people get the necessary treatment and 90 percent of the treated people reach zero viral load after that."
