Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle was a special guest at the Femina Miss India 2017 finale. The beauty queen not only judged the finals, but also spent quality time interacting with the contestants. Stephanie shared her experience of attending the finals of Femina Miss India 2017, meeting the contestants, and visiting India, in an interview with Femina.
Stephanie said, "Miss India 2017 finalists were all fantastic and outgoing when I met them. They are beautiful and are a great representation of India."
The beauty queen also talked about the Indian beauty queens and the country’s culture. “India has already won many beauty pageant titles, that achievement is commendable. The way Indians always carry their culture wherever they are, I admire that. It really is amazing how beautiful they are and to see all the pleasing things about India. Miss World is about showing other people your culture,” said Stephanie.
It took Puerto Rico 41 years to win the Miss World crown again. Talking about the proud moment, Stephanie said, “To think that now my name will be etched in history is mind boggling. It reminds me of my preparation and how I would look back and see all these Miss World winners as I aspired to be like them and what they stood for. There will be girls in the future who will look back at me and think the same thing. It is amazing! It makes me happy because I can be a role model.”
During her stay in India, Stephanie also visited Muktangan School in Worli, an inclusive English-medium school providing education to thousands of underprivileged children in Mumbai.
