Here is something for all the Miss World and Miss Universe lovers. According to sources, the finale of Miss World 2017 is scheduled to be held on 2nd December 2017. But, that’s not all, Miss Universe 2017 pageant is also scaled to be held in December. If reports are to be believed, the 66th edition of the Miss Universe pageant will be held on 17th December 2017.
Exciting? Of course it is. If the rumour is true, then December is surely going to be an exciting month to look out for. The 67th edition of the Miss World pageant will be held in Sanya, China. The decision was taken following a strategic cooperation agreement signed with the New Silk Road Fashion Organisation on 27th February 2017.
However, there has been no official announcement by the Miss World Organisation, but the news has been confirmed by reliable sources. If it’s true, this will be the seventh time that Sanya will host the competition. The city has previously hosted Miss World finals in the years, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2010 and 2015.
The dates for the two pageants have not yet been confirmed but according to reports, the two pageants will go head to head in December. And, if this happens, it will be a repeat of what happened in 2015.
Miss World is one of the oldest beauty pageants amongst the Big 4 (four) international beauty pageants. The Miss World beauty pageant started in the year 1951, the idea of Miss World beauty pageant was conceptualized by late Eric Morley, the first edition of the Miss World beauty pageant was held in United Kingdom. Miss World is one of the most publicized beauty pageants alongside Miss Universe and Miss Earth pageants. Miss Universe pageant was founded in the year 1952; it started as a local "bathing beauty" competition organized by Catalina Swimwear in Long Beach, California. Donald Trump acquired the pageant in the year 1996 after the pageant had gained popularity among various pageant lovers.
