Manushi Chhillar from India crowned Miss World 2017!

The majestic finale night of Miss World 2017 concluded with the crowning of Manushi Chhillar from India. She is the sixth beauty from India to win the title and bring the glory for the country after a wait of 17 long years. She succeeds and was crowned by the gorgeous Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico, who was the second Miss World winner from Puerto Rico.

Manushi is 20 years old, stands tall at 175 cm while her slender body measurements are 33-27-34. Besides being a model, she is studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery. Coming from a family of doctors, since an early age, Manushi dreamed of winning Miss India pageant and idolized Reita Faria, the first Indian and Asian winner of Miss World crown, who she found a very genuine person.  A trained classical dancer in Kuchipudi form, she loves art whether through dancing or sketching and painting. A former National School of Drama student, Manushi has the natural grace and poise of a queen which she has acquired from dance and acting.

In her journey of Miss World, Manushi gives the maximum credit to her parents for being the pillar of strength and support for her. They encouraged her to follow her dreams and take bold risks in life. In fact event in the final question and answer round of the competition, she gave a very touching answer about her mother. In it, she shared about the special place a mother holds in everyone’s life while saying that a mother deserves to be given utmost love, respect and care.

Manushi’s friends say that her desire to become a beauty queen goes long back to school days, when she would participate in various competitions in school, and was known to be very intelligent, tall and beautiful. Juggling between medical classes while preparing for Miss India pageant, Manushi gave her sweat and blood to the pageant.

Her court included –

First runner-up – Alma Andrea Meza Carmona from Mexico

Second runner-up – Stephanie Hill from England

Magline Jeruto (Kenya) and Aurore Kichenin (France) made up the other Top 5. Remaining Top 10 finalists were Achintya Holte Nilsen (Indonesia),Solange Sinclair (Jamaica), Haeun Kim Sitlinger (South Korea), Polina Popova (Russia) and Adè van Heerden (South Africa)
